Delete your GetE85 account

Last updated: September 10, 2026

This page explains how to delete your GetE85 account and what happens to your data. It applies to the GetE85 mobile apps for iOS and Android and to the GetE85 website at gete85.com, which all share one account.

Delete your account from the app

This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.

  1. Open the GetE85 app and sign in, if you are not already signed in.
  2. Tap the Account tab.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Read the confirmation dialog, which names exactly what is removed, and tap Delete to confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are returned to the sign-in screen. Nothing else is required, and no one needs to approve the request.

Ask us to delete it for you

If you have already uninstalled the app, or would rather we handled it, email help@gete85.com from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm by email once it is done, within 30 days of the request and usually much sooner.

If you signed in with Google or Apple and no longer have access to that address, say so in the message and we will verify the account another way before deleting anything.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • Your profile — name, email address and profile image
  • Your saved trips, including their routes
  • Your password, and any Google or Apple sign-in linked to the account
  • Every signed-in session and API token, so all your devices are signed out
  • The last known location and state stored to centre the map for you
  • Any station submissions you filed that are still waiting in the review queue

If you have a paid membership, the subscription is cancelled and your customer record is deleted at Stripe, our payment processor, as part of the same request. If you signed in with Apple, we also tell Apple to revoke the sign-in, so GetE85 stops appearing under Settings › your name › Sign in with Apple.

What is kept, and why

GetE85 station data is community driven, and other drivers rely on it. Corrections you made to existing stations — marking a pump as working or not working, or updating an ethanol percentage — stay in the shared station data set. They are no longer linked to you: your email address and account reference are removed from those records, so what remains is the correction itself with no contributor attached.

The same applies if you ever reviewed another user's station submission. The submission is kept and the reference to you as its reviewer is removed.

Server logs, which record IP addresses and request paths for security and abuse prevention, are kept for a limited period and then discarded on their own schedule.

Retention period

There is no waiting period and no grace period. Deletion happens when you confirm it, or when we process your email request, and it cannot be undone. We do not retain a recoverable copy of a deleted account, and there is no way for us to restore one afterwards. If you want your saved trips, note them down before you delete.
